We are seeing reformation take place right before our eyes.
On June 24, 2022, history was made when the U.S. Supreme Court issued its 6-3 majority ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, the egregious court decision that had federally legalized abortion for over 49 years. Like most of you, I was elated and wept tears of joy when I heard the news. I believe with all my heart that the true Ekklesia made all the difference, with half a century of praying, fasting, marching, organizing, and voting that brought forth a new chapter in American history. We give Jesus, the Head of the Ekklesia, all the praise, honor, and glory for this victory.
The toppling of Roe v. Wade was monumental, but it is just the beginning. The real work now begins for us as leaders to fight for further societal transformation. For those of us in America, we must roll up our sleeves to make California and over 20 other states pro-life on a local and state level.
This example of historic reformation, which once seemed next to impossible, is indicative of the prophetic season we are now in. When Lou Engle and I moved to California in 1984, he prophesied that two things would take place: (1) Roe v. Wade would be overturned in our lifetime, and (2) California will become a pro-life state. The first objective has miraculously come to pass. The second objective now beckons us forward into action.
In this post-Roe world, a convergence is taking place on a macro level for a tremendous harvest. The global shaking continues to be felt with repercussions from the coronavirus, the highest inflation in decades, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, and senseless mass shootings in the streets of America. I believe the words of C.S. Lewis are germane to this current season: “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pain: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” God wants to use the suffering that our nations are going through—on a global and personal scale—to turn their hearts back to Jesus Christ.
Church, in this hour God is issuing a wakeup call to our nations. Yes, there is tremendous fear and confusion amidst all this shaking, but the remedy is revival and reformation. In this season of societal transformation, I want to share two apostolic action points for the Body of Christ:
1. We must recognize the unprecedented opportunities to bring in the harvest, especially through servant evangelism. I believe new ministries will be formed to serve single mothers and children at risk in this post-Roe era. This includes services like counseling and prenatal care, but it goes beyond that—to paying for maternity expenses and childcare, becoming foster parents, or adopting a child. We can also support the pro-life movement by sowing into existing ministries like 1RACE4LIFE, a ministry overseen by HIM. That is why I believe Haggai 2:7 is God’s now-word for the Church. Amidst the global shaking, God is bringing in the wealth of the nations so that we can use the money to advance His Kingdom.
2. We must volunteer freely in this unprecedented time of history (Psalm 110:3). The year 2022 is a year of action, and there has never been a better time to partner with the Kingdom of God. Not all of us may be able to adopt a child or start a pregnancy care clinic, but we all can do something in our own sphere of influence to make a lasting impact for the next generation.
Today I apostolically decree that God will show you your divine assignment and how you can transform your city, your region, and your nation!
